“Dr. Bob” grew up near Pittsburgh (go Steelers!) and attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. His special interests lie in wellness medicine and dentistry. He is one of the owners of WMAH and is the Operations Manager. Dr. Bob stays very busy behind the scenes. He is currently a member of the Vermont Veterinary State Board and the Vermont Professional Responsibility Program. During his time outside of the hospital, he would prefer to be on his skis, bicycle, motorcycle, kayak, or wearing his running shoes.
Originally from Arizona, Dr. Morris graduated from Cornell University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. With her tireless good humor, compassion for her patients and demand for quality medicine, Dr. Morris has been a most welcome addition to WMAH since joining the practice in 1995. She not only works with companion animals but is well known for her work with llamas and alpacas. She and her partner Alan live on a Shaftsbury farm with 3 dogs, 2 horses, 1 ox, 2 cats and chickens, turkeys, guinea chickens, fish, a goose and a frog. Outside the clinic, she enjoys competitive horseback riding and working on her farm where they produce nearly all of their own food.
Dr. Suzy grew up in Manchester, NH and after attending college at Clark University in Worcester, MA she spent 6 years working in business in Boston, MA and San Francisco, CA. In 1996, Dr. Suzy relocated to Fairbanks, AK to work as the research technician at the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ Large Animal Research Station. Here she took care of herds of Caribou, Muskoxen and Reindeer for 5 years before deciding to return to school for her veterinary degree. Dr. Suzy graduated from Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and returned to Fairbanks to start practicing veterinary medicine. In 2008, Dr. Suzy and her husband decided to return to New England to be closer to family. When not at the clinic she enjoys year-round outdoor activities, reading, traveling and spending time with her husband and their 4 dogs and 3 cats.
“Dr. Bo” is the most recent addition to West Mountain and is the son of Dr. Bob Bergman and Dr. Anna Worth. He grew up spending time with his parents when the clinic was across the driveway and is excited to be back in the Southwest Vermont community. Dr. Bo graduated from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2009, where he served as class president. He is the recipient of the Grimes Leadership Award, the Novartis Ethicon Surgical Excellence Award and the Client Communication Award. Dr. Bo has a strong interest in surgery and wellness medicine, and he is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) New Graduate Task Force and carries on his mother's passion for organized veterinary medicine. Bo spends his time outside of the clinic with his wife and daughter and their menagerie of animals. When home, he is active in the outdoors and enjoys photography.
WMAH continues to celebrate the life of Dr. Anna Worth, who passed away in May of 2009. Dr. Worth was unparalleled in her dedication to the health and well being of companion animals and promoting awareness in animal health care. Her enthusiasm, positive energy, and progressive ideas helped make WMAH into what it is today.
Beyond WMAH, Dr. Anna was very involved in organized veterinary medicine. Locally, she served on the Board of the Bennington County Humane Society. She also served as President of the Vermont Veterinary Medical Association (VVMA), where she founded and edited the VVMA newsletter. She served as the Vermont delegate to the American Veterinary Medical Association from 1992 - 1999. In 1992 she received the Massachusetts SPCA Veterinarian of the Year Award, and in 1997 the David Walker Award. She served as chairperson for the Vermont Cruelty Task Force and the Vermont Animal Welfare Committee. Anna became passionately involved with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), an international organization focused on raising the level of companion animal health care and providing standards and accreditation for 3,000 hospitals and 40,000 veterinary professionals. She served on numerous AAHA committees, including the Foundation Board of Trustees, the Accredited Referral Practice Task Force, and the Animal Welfare and Ethics Task Force. She acted as the AAHA representative for the CATalyst Council, National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy, and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association. In 2005 she helped found the AAHA Helping Pets Fund, which provides funds to pets and clients in need. From 2008 to 2009, during her illness, she served as the AAHA President and championed Student Advocacy, Mentoring Guidelines, and had numerous speaking engagements at veterinary colleges in the US and Canada. During her AAHA tenure, she continued to be involved in other veterinary activities, including a Veterinary Management Group, the AAHA Veterinary Management Institute, and President of the Society for Veterinary Medical Ethics. Because of her accomplishments and far-reaching influence, she will be missed by members of her profession worldwide.
